Nonprofit Fund Development—The Numbers, The Ask, and Stewardship

JOIN US FOR THIS PRE-CONFERENCE WORKSHOP AT REAL PLACES 2024!

For a nonprofit to be successful in its mission, effective resource development is critical. To that end, it is important for the board, staff, and development officer to build realistic expectations on a solid foundation of numbers.

This workshop is designed to help attendees build their skills in fund development, starting with how to clearly and accurately assess their funding needs, determine the true costs of a program or project, and translate a prospect list into a realistic and achievable development budget. Building on the numbers, the workshop will teach attendees how to understand the challenges in fundraising, their sources or prospects and what motivates their giving habits, and fundraising “markets” and “vehicles.” Nonprofit staff and board members will also learn how to comfortably cultivate donors and make the ask using the best possible strategies. The final part of this workshop will focus on the nonprofit’s responsibility after a gift has been received. In person only. This workshop is not available to virtual attendees.
