Each new layer of history enriches our heritage but also requires a more nuanced telling. Our goal is to preserve our history so that future generations can find their place in it. Support Historic Sites

With 38 State Historic Sites across Texas, there is a storied place close to home for each and every one of us. Support a site of your choosing, and help us preserve these treasured locations for generations to come.

Corporate Partnerships

We work with corporations to design long-term partnerships that meet their specific philanthropic and social impact objectives, while addressing their marketing and public relations goals. Corporate gifts can support a range of programs and projects, including awards for excellence in historic preservation, scholarships, and sponsorship of conferences, seminars, and workshops

Legacy Giving

Preserve the past by remembering the Friends of the Texas Historical Commission (FTHC) in your financial and estate planning. Your future gift will allow us to plan for long-term preservation goals and help us preserve Texas’s history for future generations.

Endowments

By establishing a new endowment with the FTHC or contributing to an existing one, you can honor someone important to you while providing permanent support for preservation projects and programs throughout the state of Texas. As responsible stewards of your gift, we invest the funds and use annual distributions to support your project, program, or site of choice.

Tribute Gifts

You can support the FTHC in honor of a special person or to celebrate an event. You can also remember a lost loved one or a special individual with a memorial gift that holds special meaning. We will notify honorees and the family of the deceased of your gift.

Gifts of Stock

Gifts of appreciated securities and closely held stock can be extremely beneficial—both to you and to the Friends of the Texas Historical Commission. You may receive an income tax deduction equal to the fair market value of the securities at the time of donation and reduce or eliminate capital gains taxes. Proceeds from the sale of these assets can be directed to any program project of your choosing.
