Brian Shivers

Brian is a private investor concentrating on equities and energy. He has been involved in management and/or advisory roles in a number of industries including real estate, venture capital, retail, publishing, broadcasting and financial services. He has also been a freelance writer for over twenty-five years. His published articles cover topics ranging from terrorism to trout fishing and have appeared in a variety of publications including The Dallas Morning News and Fly Fish America magazine, for which he was the regional editor from 1996-2001.

Brian is the Immediate past Chair of the Friends of the Texas Historical Commission and served as Board President of the Allan Shivers Library & Museum Endowment Fund, Past Chairman of the North Dallas Chamber of Commerce, Past Chairman of The University of Texas Student Union Advisory Council, Past Chairman of The Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Society Advisory Council, Annete Strauss Institute for Civic Participation.

Brian received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Texas at Austin. He was on active duty in the U. S. Army from 1974 – 1977 and served for several more years in the Army Reserve as a tactical communications officer. He is a graduate of the Army Airborne and Ranger schools. He has a ranch is southeast Texas where he raises horses and timber.
