Daisy Sloan White
Trustee | College Station, TexasDaisy Sloan White has more than 40 years of experience in fundraising, development, communications, and strategic planning. Over her career, she has organized and executed major local and national events. These include multi-day presidential inauguration celebrations, the Super Bowl, Major League Baseball World Series, and numerous corporate and nonprofit productions.
In 2004, Daisy received a Certificate of Appreciation from the U.S. Secret Service. The recognition honored her organizational, management, and communication skills and was awarded for her work on 41 @ 80, the 80th birthday celebration for President George H. W. Bush. She continues to work today as a special events consultant.
Volunteer leadership has long defined Daisy’s life. She served as a Commissioner of the Texas Historical Commission from 2011 to 2023. In that role, she brought deep experience and a strong commitment to Texas history and historic preservation.
Daisy has chaired several of the nation’s most successful nonprofit fundraising events. These include the Cattle Baron’s Ball of Houston for the American Cancer Society. She also chaired the Houston Ballet Nutcracker Market during its first $1 million fundraising year. Additionally, she led Race for the Cure events known for record-breaking attendance and contributions.
She currently serves on the Texas A&M University Press Advancement Board. She is also a member of the Campaign Committee of The Bush School of Government & Public Service at Texas A&M University. Previously, she served on the Governor’s Commission for Women from 2005 to 2011.
Daisy earned her bachelor’s degree from The University of Texas. She received her master’s degree in speech pathology from Southern Methodist University. She is married to John D. White, a partner in the Southern Funds Group in Houston. They have two daughters.
