Sarita Armstrong Hixon, JD
Trustee | Armstrong, TexasSarita A. Hixon is a former member of the Texas Historical Commission and currently serves on the board of the Texas State History Museum Foundation. She has a long record of leadership and service to historical, educational, and cultural organizations across Texas and beyond.
Her previous board service includes the Texas State Historical Association, San Jacinto Museum of History Association, San Jacinto Historical Advisory Board, Friends of Communities in Schools, and the Contemporary Arts Museum. She has also served on the board of Foxcroft School in Middleburg, Virginia.
Professionally, Sarita serves as Kenedy County Commissioner, in Precinct 3, bringing a strong background in law and public service to her role. Earlier in her legal career, she worked as a law clerk for the Honorable Owen D. Cox, United States District Judge for the Southern District of Texas. Later, Sarita practiced as an associate attorney with the Houston law firm Andrews & Kurth LLP.
Sarita earned her Bachelor of Arts from The University of Texas at Austin and her Juris Doctor from Southern Methodist University School of Law. A native of Corpus Christi, Texas, she currently resides in Armstrong, Texas.
