The Texas Main Street Program (TMSP) provides an annual educational and motivational retreat for its network participants. Hosted by Downtown San Angelo, this year’s retreat provides a wide variety of topics and experiences for Main Street managers, support staff, and board members. Content highlights include the following.
- Main Street America Transformation Strategies training
- New manager and board member training
- Small Business Development Center services
- Vacant and underutilized building charrette
- Main Street manager presentations on best practices
- Discussions with fellow Main Street managers
- Tours of and time in San Angelo’s Main Street district
Retreat activities will take place throughout downtown San Angelo; primary venues will include Fort Concho and the Cactus Hotel. A retreat content line-up was issued over the Main Street listserv on April 29 and a formal schedule will be issued in early May. Upon registration, a confirmation email will be sent to registrants with retreat hotel block information.
TMSP New manager/board member training: $20
Monday, June 3, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. training is intended for Main Street managers and support staff with less than two years of experience. However, Main Street staff who would like a refresh of the scheduled material are welcome to join us regardless of experience level. Board members of all levels of experience will benefit from this training. Registration includes lunch on the day of the training.
TMSP Retreat education and district activities: $66
Monday, June 3, 6 p.m. through Thursday, June 6, 12:30 p.m. training is intended for Main Street managers, support staff, and board members. Content overview was shared through the Main Street listserv on April 29. One fee amount is applied regardless of how many days one plans to attend. Registration includes lunches (Tue, Wed, Thu) and dinners (Mon, Tue, Wed).
