Bequests

Our most popular legacy gift is a bequest in your will or trust. Bequests allow you to address current financial obligations while providing critical support to future preservation efforts. Your gift can be a specific dollar amount or a percentage of your estate. Your future commitment will ensure that the historic places of Texas, and the programs that support their preservation, will continue for generations.

Stock or Securities

Gifts of appreciated securities and closely held stock can be highly beneficial—both to you and the FTHC. You may receive an income tax deduction equal to the securities’ fair market value at the time of donation and reduce or eliminate capital gains taxes. You can direct the proceeds from the sale of these assets to any program or project of your choosing.

You can designate the FTHC as a beneficiary of your retirement, investment, bank account, or life insurance policy. This simple and affordable way to support the FTHC significantly reduces future income and estate tax liability.
