Whether commemorating significant sites, epic events, or important individuals, Official Texas Historical Markers have been promoting and preserving the real stories of Texas for decades. Yet there are still underrepresented topics that should be better known. Is there an undertold story in your community? On September 4, join the staff of the THC’s historical marker program to learn more about the Undertold Markers initiative. We’ll go over examples of some of the topics which might make you say “I’ve never heard of that before!” and walk you through the application process just in time for the next round of candidates starting in October. You might be the one who gets the next undertold marker placed in your community – for free!
