Lorelei Gonzalez, MPA

Lorelei Gonzalez is an accomplished nonprofit leader with more than 15 years of experience in the sector. She proudly joined the Texas Historical Commission’s mission of historic preservation as their Development Manager in 2025.
Based in Austin, Texas, Lorelei is a versatile generalist in the nonprofit sector with expertise in marketing, communications, development, program creation and execution, and public speaking. She also runs a communications consultancy that helps small businesses and start-ups improve their messaging and presentation skills. She is passionate about people-centered missions and brings hands-on experience across many facets of organizational growth. Her career has spanned youth services, environmental campaigns, mental health and homelessness initiatives, and women’s professional development.
Lorelei earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Arkansas and a Master of Public Administration from the University of Colorado. She is a Certified Nonprofit Manager, a Google #IamRemarkable facilitator, and is currently pursuing her Certificate in Fund Raising Management (CFRM).
Service and mentorship remain central to her life. She previously served as Board Co-Secretary and continuing education (CEU) lead for the Austin chapter of the Texas Association of Addiction Professionals (TAAP). Following her tenure with TAAP, she shifted her focus to women’s leadership development through the Young Women’s Alliance (YWA), where she now serves on the Advisory Council and mentors through YWA Connect program. Lorelei is a Leadership Austin alumna, an ANGEL advocate with the Tigerlily Foundation, and a former member of Women Communicators of Austin (WCA).
