Cynthia “Kay” Timme

Cynthia “Kay” Timme is the Director of the Allan Shivers Library and Museum in Tyler County, Texas. She also serves as the Chair of the Tyler County Historical Commission and has served in various positions in the Tyler County Judge’s office.

Before coming on board as the Director of the Shivers Library, Kay taught as an adjunct professor in the College of Education at the University of Houston, as well as in the Department of Language, Literacy, and Special Populations in the College of Education at Sam Houston University, following which she worked as an independent education consultant.  Kay brings a wealth of experience working with and supporting students, and looks forward to combining this with her passion for history and historic preservation

Kay Timme is a native Texan, born in Beaumont, raised in Houston, and currently a resident of Woodville, Texas.
